About the Program

  • Students can choose to get a bachelor's degree in general computer information systems or choose a track within the Computer Information Systems major. The department offers two alternative majors: Cybersecurity and Web Development.
  • All full-time computer information systems faculty hold a Ph.D. in their respective fields.
  • Computer science and computer information systems students can take classes to get CCNA certification.

  • Most classes involve hands-on learning in computer labs.
  • Computer information systems students have an RSO called COUGAR Code. 

  • Capstone classes

  • Faculty-accompanied conferences

While taking courses within our program, you can simultaneously earn credits within the Cisco Academy program to prepare you for the CCNA exam toward certification. The CCNA certification improves your career skills and gives you an extra boost to help you secure the right position after graduation.
